2019 CHEVY BLAZER RS REVIEW

You've heard of the Chevrolet Blazer before, but forget what you think you know. The 2019 Blazer RS has a strikingly sleek and seductive body design. Pleasing to your sense of style, the new Blazer RS will also send shivers down your spine when you slide into the form-fitting leather seats. The Blazer RS is unashamedly a crossover SUV. What does that mean? Well, keep reading because this Blazer RS review is going knee-deep into a remarkable crossover SUV.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE RS

The 2019 Blazer is an exceptional crossover SUV, but the RS trim option goes even further. What you immediately notice is the black and red design on the exterior and interior. You would probably stare at the luxurious Italian-looking front grille and its black Chevy bowtie. The Blazer comes with standard 18-inch frames, but the RS brings you 21-inch, blacked-out alloy rims that might make Corvette drivers jealous.

Lower trims include a 193 horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, while the RS features a 305 horsepower 3.6-liter V6 as standard. All-wheel drive is standard on the RS. Around back, the RS includes a hands-free power liftgate.

VERSATILITY

A crossover SUV means versatility. The 2019 Blazer leads the pack in versatility. Five cargo and seating arrangements make the RS extremely versatile and spacious. The entire rear row can be folded down to pick up a maximum 64.2 cubic feet of cargo space. You could also fold down just one of the rear seats to maintain passenger capacity. If you want it all, you slide the rear seats forward to keep it a 5-passenger crossover and maximize storage capacity.

The Blazer RS does not disappoint when it comes to passenger capacity and legroom, as it can seat five comfortably. Another beautiful feature available on the RS is heated rear seats. The RS interior is borrowed from the Camaro, and while it is sporty, it also utilizes the passenger space well. The rear headroom feels appropriate, and with the RS, there's a panoramic sunroof.

2019 CHEVY BLAZER RS TECHNOLOGIES

Safety technologies abound in the RS, and most are not available on the standard Blazer model. These include Lane Keep Assist, Automatic Forward Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Pedestrian Detection. You may not have known these technologies exist, but rest easy knowing that they are included in the Blazer RS you wish you had-even the connected steering that improves handling.

The RS comes with Chevy's Infotainment 3 System and available Bose® surround system. Of course, a must is the available 4G LTE Wi-Fi® to make sure you always stay connected. Bluetooth® connectivity is standard. Thankfully, the 8-inch touchscreen is large and intuitive, so you never have to fumble around wondering whether you are changing the radio or turning on the rear vents.
