Your car battery will eventually die. You can test your battery in order to determine when it is going to die. The only tools that you need are a car battery tester and a voltimeter or multimeter. You should not drive your vehicle for several days before you test the vehicle. You will then need to connect the battery tester. Determine if your battery charge is within a healthy range. If your battery is fully charged, then it will have a voltage of 12.6 or higher.

If the charge is below 12, then it is weak and needs to be charged. You can also perform a crank test. This will determine the lowest voltage that your battery can maintain. If your battery is in good shape, then it should be between nine and 10 volts.
