      The Verano is a great car! I have had two now, and haven't had any problems with either of them. One was the Convenience package and the one I have now is the Leather package with the power moon roof. Both of them had the 2.4 naturally aspirated 4 cyl engine. It is a great engine. Plenty of power for this size of car and I can easily achieve 34MPG on a trip. GM has used this engine in a lot of vehicles over the years but in the Verano it has a unique intake that makes the engine sound much quieter and smoother than in other vehicles. The Verano doesn't get the credit it deserves from auto reviewers. It is a great riding, driving, handling car, with lots of luxury items and a low price. Between the two Verano's I have owned I have only put tires on them and changed the oil. Even at 70K miles the mechanic said the brakes are still in great shape! I would not have any reservations about buying a Verano.…

      I bought by 2014 Verano, new, just over 6 years ago. I have been very happy with it. The only repairs it's needed have been: the ignition went out in year 3 when it was still under warranty, and the AC went out in year 5 which cost about $1,000 to repair. That's not great, but I do like just about everything else about it. Leather seats on the 2nd highest trim are good, steering wheel heater is nice even in CA, remote start, Bose sound system, and steering wheel button placements are great. Only negatives, like others on here, the legroom in the back is lacking and the trunk is a little small. Also on mine, the chrome line at the bottom of one of the windows moves when the window gets rolled up and looks misaligned. It's minor but annoying. I'm not having the issue with the paint. I parked outside for the first 3 years -- by the beach -- and since then have parked in a garage. After six years and subpar car-washing habits, my paint is perfectly fine. One other thing that took some getting used to is the part of the car that supports the roof in between the driver's window and the windshield. It's wider in the Verano than any car I've driven in, and it sorta creates a small blind spot at your 11 o'clock. It's not a big deal, but there have been times when making a left turn and pedestrians are crossing, that I had to move my head to see the pedestrians. I'm used to it now, but it took some getting used to. Another similar, minor, problem is accelerating on sharp turns. When making a right turn sometimes, you have to time it right (delay by a split second) when you start to accelerate out of the turn. If you do it too soon, the car sorta hiccups -- it doesn't accelerate right away then too much all of the sudden to make up for it. It makes you look like you suck at driving if you have passengers. Again, I'm used to it now so it doesn't happen, but it shouldn't take that delay on my part. So I still give it 5/5 stars but took out one star for quality and one for performance for the reasons above. Minor, minor issues. Overall, a great car.…
