      This transit with the 3.7 L engine drives great with plenty of power for driving the hills and mountains of east tennessee. It handles curves and street driving ok as well. I am averaging 16.6 mpg. The only performance problem I have encountered is some rather strong buffeting behind a semi at highway speed. When I backed off about 75 feet the buffeting was only slight. The front seats aren't the best with just fabric covering and rather poor small arm rests. But they are reasonable comfortable. The rear 13 seats, small, cramped, etc are fit for only short trips of 30 minutes or less. At 6ft 3in tall I am unable to stretch my legs out completely which makes driving long times a bit difficult. The overhead interior is starting to pull away from the walls of the vehicle leaving small 1/4-1/2 inch gaps. Finally, getting in the van is awkward, both for me and my 5ft 7in tall wife. If I go straight for the seat it's a bit high and I have to slide onto the seat. If I first step onto the interior step, I then am too high and may bump my head. She has to pull herself in using the handle on the passenger side.…

      I was very happy with this vehicle when it was new but it has proved to be unreliable and has many electrical component design flaws which unfortunately leave you stranded in inconvenient places. I have the 3.7L V6 regular fuel T250 version and carry about 1500 pounds of equipment permanently in the vehicle. I get an average of 15 miles per gallon in mostly city driving. I take good care of the truck and treat her gently, accelerating slowly and doing the maintenance according to the manufacturers manual. The rear brakes when out at 22,000 and though feel that is very premature, they were cheap and I replaced them myself. The new ones have lasted for 59,000 and have plenty of life left so the original brakes were clearly inadequate. I replaced the front brakes at 65,000, another easy and inexpensive job. At 63,000 the van stalled out in the middle of the city. It would crank but no fuel flowed to the engine. I did some internet browsing and found a helpful story about the same issue and how to fix it. I crawled under the drivers side of the truck and below the driver's seat there is a drivers fuel pump module that is bolted with 2 10mm bolts and one electrical plug. I got one from the local auto parts place for $70 and was on my way. Now at 81,000 the van suddenly stalled again in the city with a "Transmission not in park" message. I had it towed to the dealership in Bellevue WA, and after a week they called me and told me that the transmission has to be opened and an electrical harness or other component has to be replaced at $1850 and it will take another week. I purchased this van new and yet it has cost me more and caused me more inconvenience than any other truck I have ever owned. I will not buy another Ford Transit.…

      We have several of these in our fleet (2017 Transit 250 vans, (1) 2017 Transit 350 van, as well as several 2018 Transit 150 vans and several 2019-2020 Transit 250 vans - all medium roof vans with the longer wheelbase). They are decent vans, but they eat through rear brakes and tires like no ones business, especially those servicing stores in the mountainous terrain. We have tried several different brand of tires, all results are mostly the same. Also use Motorcraft brand brakes, they wear out fast and costly to replace. Front hubs have to be changed out we are told. Our older Ford E150 and E250 vans were much easier on the tires and brakes. We have also had vibration issues and now one of our 2017 vans has transmission failure at 156,000 miles. Also major issues with the little trim covers located on the 3rd brake light, as even only a week old, they were falling off. Was at the dealer several times to finally resolve that issue. Our drivers love they can walk through them, but I personally miss the E250 van. Too bad they stopped making it.…
